I need your help to fund decent work organizing!

This year, I'm participating in the Workers' Bowl - an annual charity event run collaboratively by the Ontario Employment Education & Research Centre (OEERC) and the Workers’ Action Centre.

All funds raised will directly benefit precarious workers through:

  • Training: funding the annual training program run by the Workers' Action Centre
  • Senior Leader Program: funding the work of these workers as they develop skills in community outreach, public education, and rights in the workplace
  • Education: ESL classes that focus on workplace rights language
  • Organizing: infiltrating our communities through media, outreach, and online programs

All of this is done in Mandarin, Bengali, Punjabi, Somali, Spanish, and Tamil. Can you believe it?!

It's time for us to step up and help ensure this work continues - please consider making a donation to my page today.

Sunday 10th Nov
Thank you to ALL OF YOU for donating to this campaign. It's been so exciting and energising seeing the funds come in, knowing they're all going to go straight to employment rights training for workers. Thank you!

This past week, I caught a story on CBC that showed the kind of important work the Worker's Action Centre and their members are doing. They've spoken up to highlight that  workers in Ontario are owed $60M in unpaid wages from their employers since 2017. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/workers-owed-60m-unpaid-wages-ontario-1.7376061

Let's keep supporting WAC and OEERC in this fight!

Let's get started!

Saturday 2nd Nov
I had the pleasure of getting to hear workers and organizers from the Worker's Action Centre speak at a recent event. I got to hear about how WAC and its partner org, the Ontario Employment Education and Research Centre, are helping people self-organize to fight wage theft - employers not paying them for what they are due.

For this reason and so many more, I'm excited to support this fundraiser this year! I'm hoping you'll give generously - if you need an extra reason, it's my birthday and I'm entering my "late" 30s, so I could use the support too :)

Thank you to my Sponsors
