I need your help to fund decent work organizing!
This year, I'm participating in the Workers' Bowl - an annual charity event run collaboratively by the Ontario Employment Education & Research Centre (OEERC) and the Workers’ Action Centre.
All funds raised will directly benefit precarious workers through:
- Training: funding the annual training program run by the Workers' Action Centre
- Senior Leader Program: funding the work of these workers as they develop skills in community outreach, public education, and rights in the workplace
- Education: ESL classes that focus on workplace rights language
- Organizing: infiltrating our communities through media, outreach, and online programs
All of this is done in Mandarin, Bengali, Punjabi, Somali, Spanish, and Tamil. Can you believe it?!

Let the fundraising begin!
Tuesday 8th Oct The first donation has come in, and I'm sending out fundraising invites. I feel confident that this campaign can raise far more funds that the initial goal of $350!Worker's Action Centre does grounded, critical, highly strategic work - including jobs that many people might believe are being done by the government (but are not). For example, WAC supports workers to get paid weeks or months of wages that have not been issued by their employer (i.e. dealing with wage theft).
Let's make sure WAC is able to continue and expand its crucial work in our city & province!! Share
